no smudge allowed

I’ve been on the lookout for the right waterproof pencil eyeliner for a long time. In fact, I’ve almost given up on pencil eyeliners. Almost. I have such high hopes each time I purchase a new one. I imagine it staying in perfect place but it seems that within a few hours the flawless lines either disappear or transform into one big unintentional smudge. After asking around, reading reviews, and doing some in-depth eyeliner research (it’s hard, hard work, of course) I’ve compiled a list the top-rated waterproof eyeliners around.

1. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
This pencil gets rave reviews for its creamy-to-everlasting formula. It also comes in 20 of the most unreal colours, metallics and neutrals.
2. Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner
I love the idea that this pencil has a built-in sharpener. It’s meant to be easy-to-apply, soft and promises not to budge or smudge once it sets.
3. Revlon Color Stay Eye Liner
This Revlon eye liner is a best-seller and promises not to go anywhere for up to 16 hours. Bonus: it also has a built-in sharpener.
4. Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner
Overhearing me talking to a makeup consultant, a fellow shopper came over and raved about this eye liner. It offers intense colour and some serious staying power.

I may need to buy them all…

A light coat of primer on the lids (mine are oily) and nothing moves… I’ve been using Clinque Quickliner for over a decade, and I buy Dark Chocolate in bulk.
