i spy dramatic eyes

If I’m in a huge rush I may leave the house without any makeup on my face, but I can say that I don’t think I’ve ever been seen in public without mascara. I envy those born with thick, dark lashes but my thin and blonde eyelashes let me play pretend. For that reason I love using dark, volumizing and lengthening formulas that kick up the drama. I’m currently using Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara but here are a few of my favorites and one brand new must-have mascara.

1. Lancôme Virtuose Black Carat Mascara
This mascara does it all; it’s the superwoman of all mascaras. Lancôme claims that it gives lashes “voluptuous curves, luscious length and captivating volume”. I couldn’t have said it better myself. I remember that the first luxury makeup product I ever purchased was a Lancôme mascara. I think that’s how my obsession began.
Bourjois Coup de Théâtre Mascara
I fell in love with Bourjois on a trip to Europe when I was 15. Upon returning home from that trip I made my Romanian grandmother send me Bourjois makeup from across the pond for years (what? I needed my Bourjois eye shadows!). When Bourjois popped up in Canada, this mascara quickly became a favorite of mine. The double-ended white base and coloured coat give you the ultimate dramatic look.
3. Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara

I have several friends who adore this mascara. I’ve tried it myself and even gifted a few to a friend for her birthday. Cover Girl knows how to be innovative and this patented volume-boosting formula and patent-pending brush does what it’s meant to do: make everyone fall madly in love with you at the bat of a volumized eyelash.
4. Benefit They’re Real Mascara

Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara is set to arrive in Canada today, July 15th 2011, but the other day I hit up my local Sephora store where a Benefit rep just happened to also be. She let me take a peek at They’re Real and I wanted to get my hands on it even more. Tease! The breakthrough formula and varied bristles promise to lengthen, curl, plump, boost and lift your lashes so much so that everyone will wonder if they’ve had some work done.
